Exploring Nature in the Classroom

I’ve been thinking about ways to incorporate more outdoor activities into our Montessori curriculum. For instance, setting up a nature corner has been a hit in my classroom, where children can gather leaves and observe insects. I’m curious to hear how others are integrating nature into their lessons and what resources you’ve found useful.

I love the idea of a nature corner! We’ve brought in a small bug hotel to observe critters up close — students get super engaged. Check out @MontessoriNature for more tips.

And creating a sensory garden can be a game-changer! We planted herbs that kids can touch and smell, and it’s amazing how hands-on learning makes them curious… If you want to expand on that, check out the @MontessoriNature for simple DIY ideas to boost outdoor exploration.

Setting up a nature corner sounds fantastic! We use recycled containers to create mini ecosystems, which sparks so much curiosity among the kids. @rachel_turner12, have you tried getting them to observe the life cycles of plants too?
