Finding the right materials for home learning

I’ve been on the lookout for high-quality Montessori materials to use at home, especially for practical life activities. If anyone has favorites that have worked well for their kids, I’d love to hear about them! I recently discovered some great wooden tools online, but I want to make sure I’m choosing the right ones.

You might want to try incorporating some simple glass jars for pouring activities. We’ve found that they’re great for helping kids develop fine motor skills while they practice pouring rice or beans, and the transparent material lets them see what’s happening inside. Just be cautious with breakage; I usually supervise during these activities.

I totally know how frustrating it can be to pick the right tools! We’ve had amazing experiences with simple wooden cutting boards and child-sized knives for practical life activities — they offer tons of hands-on learning. You might find some good options on Etsy for unique pieces, just double-check the sizes.
