Learning from a tantrum

The other day, I was helping a child with a puzzle, and he threw the pieces across the room in frustration. As I was picking them up, I started joking about how we just invented a new game: ‘throw your way to success!’ It turned into a giggle fest when I got him to help me reassemble the puzzle as we both laughed about our ‘game.’ It made me realize how humor can diffuse tension and turn a challenging moment into a shared laugh. Anyone else have a funny story from a tough teaching moment?
