I had to laugh the other day when one of our little ones refused to take off his dinosaur shirt, insisting it was ‘lucky.’ It got me thinking about how we often put so much emphasis on uniforms and expectations, but sometimes the real magic happens in those little moments of individuality. Just goes to show that even in a Montessori setting, you can never underestimate the power of a good dinosaur tee.
Totally get it! My little one had a ‘lucky’ firetruck shirt too… Sometimes letting them express themselves is more important than what they wear.

But it’s funny how those ‘lucky’ shirts become almost like a security blanket for them. My kiddo once wore their favorite superhero shirt for a week straight, and I could barely get them to switch it up! Sometimes, I think embracing their choices is the real key to that Montessori spirit of independence.
